When Educators Need Space to Pause
In recent years, the education sector has faced increasingly complex challenges. On the one hand, educators are required to be productive, responsive, and innovative. On the other hand, they often lack the space to reconnect with the core of their profession: being individuals who are able to be fully present for others.
Behind the busy classrooms and packed curriculum lies an emotional exhaustion that is rarely discussed. Education, which should be a place for mutual growth, has shifted into an administrative routine and a burden of results. In this situation, there is a profound need for a safe space to take a break from the situation. Not only to learn new skills, but to pause for a moment to listen to oneself and rediscover the motivation to do what one is doing.
The Living Values Education (LVE) workshop organized by Karuna Bali Foundation through Capung Malajah department on June 20–22, 2025, answered that longing. Over the course of three days, four participants gathered not merely to receive materials but to delve into universal values that may have long lain dormant. In a warm, intimate circle, guided by LVE Lead Trainer Wayan Rustiasa alongside a facilitator from the Karuna Bali Foundation, each participant found space to reconnect with themselves, others, and universal values.

Small Circle, Deep Process
Although only four participants attended, the intensity and depth of this workshop exceeded expectations. Some sessions were even more profound than workshops with more participants. This small circle became a safe space for each participant to open up, share, and reconnect with values that had been dormant within them.
Sessions such as values awareness, self-reflection, and conflict resolution opened up layers within themselves that had previously been untouched. There were moments of meaningful silence, and tears flowed when participants realized something that had been hidden inside them all along.
“I am experiencing a huge shock within myself, but I don't know how to express it yet.”
When Values Are Not Taught, But Lived
Several touching moments occurred during the love value activity and when participants wrote secret letters to each other. Through this activity, they not only observed each other's values but also experienced them firsthand. They felt how they were appreciated, recognized, and understood sincerely through the letters they received.

“When writing letters to other friends, I truly felt that I could see their uniqueness. And I felt that they could see me as well.”
Becoming a More Conscious Educator
One of the most profound changes experienced by participants was the transformation of their perspective on their role as educators. Whereas previously they felt confused, directionless, or positioned themselves as the center of knowledge, they now began to see themselves as part of an equal learning process.
Space for Pause is Real
- This workshop is not just a training session; it is a space for encountering oneself, others, and values that may have been lost in the daily routine.
- From this small space, the seeds of change began to grow. Not from theory, but from real experience. Participants left not only with certificates, but with more aware and open hearts.
If you long for space to return to yourself, to be more fully present as an educator, facilitator, or individual growth, we invite you to join us for the next LVE workshop.
